Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Overview (CMMC)

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification(CMMC) is a unified standard for implementing cybersecurity across the defense industrial base.  CMMC is the Department of Defense's response to significant compromises of sensitive defense information located on contractors' information systems.

On October 8th at 10:00 AM the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership will host a CMMC Overview webinar that will cover:

• What is CMM and how did it come about?
• Who will be impacted by CMMC?
• What are the 5 cybersecurity levels defined by CMMC?
• What role will third party assessor organizations play in CMMC?

Our featured speaker, cybersecurity expert Paige Needling of Needling Worldwide, LLC, will also cover the updated CMMC program timeline, and in addition, discuss the action steps that companies need to take to get ready for CMMC.
