The Applied Research Center (ARC) was created specifically as a place for both primary technical research and collaborative discussions about applied technologies in energy, healthcare, homeland security, transportation and other applications.

Helps new and startup companies develop by providing services such as management training or space for the business to operate. 

Provides assistance to senior citizens and persons with disabilities, workforce development assistance, community development with a focus on infrastructure improvements and affordable housing programs, grant writing and administration, transportation planning, as well as loans to small businesses and other economic development activities for the purpose of saving and creating jobs.
